Liao Lixin, Director of the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and Burns at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University, Chief Physician, Professor, Master's Supervisor, and MD, is a plastic surgery expert with strong medical qualifications in Fujian Province. He specializes in double eyelid surgery, eye bag removal, breast augmentation, and facial rejuvenation.

Biography

Liao Lixin: Doctoral degree, Chief Physician, Professor, and Graduate Supervisor; currently Director of the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and Burns at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University. He is a key introduced talent of Xiamen City and a high-level talent of Xiamen City (Class B Provincial-Level Leading Talent).

In 1990, he graduated with honors from the Department of Clinical Medicine of Jiangxi Medical College. After graduation, he stayed to work at the affiliated hospital (formerly the Second Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical College, now the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University). In 1996, he obtained a Master's degree in Surgery, and in 2003, a Doctoral degree in Surgery. After obtaining the doctoral degree, he stayed to work at the hospital (formerly the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi Medical College, now the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University). Since 1990, after rigorous standardized training at the affiliated hospitals, he successively served as Resident Physician, Chief Resident, Attending Physician, and Associate Chief Physician, and in 2004 was exceptionally promoted to Chief Physician and Professor. In 2014, as a “key introduced talent of Xiamen City,” he joined the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University. In 2019, he was confirmed as a Class B Provincial-Level Leading Talent of Xiamen City.

In 1999, he studied under Professor Li Jianning in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Peking University Third Hospital, focusing on plastic and aesthetic surgery. He has long been dedicated to scar research and has trained nearly ten graduate students in the field of scar research, and has received one grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In his work, he also continuously learns new techniques and methods; in 2005, he went to Wuxi Hand Surgery Hospital in Jiangsu Province to study hand surgery and microsurgery techniques. In 2008, he was awarded the title of “Academic and Technical Leader of the Jiangxi Provincial Health System”; in 2011, he was awarded the title of “Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teacher of Higher Education Institutions in Jiangxi Province”; and he received the title of “Outstanding Teacher” for the 2006–2007 and 2010–2011 academic years and the “Second Prize for Outstanding Teaching Plan” for the 2010–2011 academic year at the First Clinical Medical College of Nanchang University.

As a project leader, he has presided over and completed one National Natural Science Foundation of China project (“Experimental Study on Camptothecin in the Prevention and Treatment of Pathological Scars”), two provincial-level scientific research projects (including one major provincial bidding project), and three municipal (departmental)-level projects. His research achievement “Experimental and Clinical Research on Tissue Engineering in Human (Skin) Tissue Construction” won the Third Prize of the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2010; “Application of Microsurgical Techniques in Burn and Plastic Surgery” won the Second Prize for Outstanding New Technology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University in 2007. To date, he has published more than 20 academic papers.
